One of our favorite playgrounds has had a little makeover during the holidays. A clean up with the water blaster, new path and astroturf over the top of the exisitng black cushion fall. Garden areas and some stepping logs similar to the central courtyard still to happen, but it’s looking way more inviting and tidier than it did. Big thanks again to the team from Magna Concrete & Construction for getting into this so quickly for us and juggling the weather and also to our own legend caretaker / property manager Jason for some of his handyman work getting the little slide up and running again. We are nearly there with the school make over. And in other news, it looks like we will be getting a TCC destination playground on Simpson Reserve by 2027!

Chloe - 22nd overall - Year 3-4 Ilvie - 6th overall, 2nd floo Addy - 1st tumble Level 5, 2nd tramp Twisters, 1st overall STEP 3-4 competitive (1st vault, 2nd bar, 1st= beam, 1st floor) Well done girls! We are very proud👊🤸‍♀️

Congratulations to our Talent Show Finalists who participated in the Pāpāmoa Community Talent Show last month. We had 4 talented performances, including 3 individual and 1 group performance. Addy took out 2nd prize with her amazing gymnastics abilities and Dahlia received a recognition performance from the judges too! Well done everyone, we are so proud of you😍

Yesterday marked another meaningful kaupapa as a group of our Te Manawanui tamariki performed at both the Pāpāmoa Beach Retirement Village and Bloom Early Learning & Play Centre. These occasions provided valuable opportunities to further strengthen our connections with the local community. Our tamariki conducted themselves with pride and mana, standing as outstanding ambassadors and role models for their peers.

Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori Wrap Up.. Te Wiki o te Reo Māori has been an outstanding success at Pāpāmoa Primary School. Our Cool to Kōrero competition proved extremely popular, receiving close to 1,000 entries within the first two days alone. On Tuesday, around 200 students enjoyed the Kanikani Disco, followed by a well-received Pēpeha competition held in the school hall on Wednesday. Thursday saw tamariki introduced to the traditional Māori game Kī o Rahi, with a wonderful display of skill and enthusiasm — from those trying it for the first time through to our more experienced players. Today, we had classes singing loud and proud, arrange of waiata as part of our 'Homai te Pakipaki' segment. Needless to say, this was without a doubt a success. Morning tea and lunch breaks have been buzzing with excitement as tamariki eagerly collected Cool to Kōrero tickets by actively using te reo Māori phrases and sentences. A number of lucky recipients were also rewarded with some very cool prizes. Although Te Wiki o te Reo Māori has now come to an end, it serves as a powerful reminder that no matter how much or how little we know, we should continue to use our language with pride. Te reo Māori is a taonga — a treasure that reflects our identity, and one we should celebrate every day. Kia Kaha Te Reo Māori 😎

Another awesome day for some our tamariki who participated in the Colin Reeder Māori Speech Event held at Pāpāmoa College. It was a truly special occasion, filled with excitement and warmth, as each participant stood with courage and delivered their kōrero in the beautiful whare, Te Ao Mārama. The heart of the day was not about competition, but about the meaningful connections formed between our kura here in Pāpāmoa. I tū kaha rātou, i tū māia anō hoki ki te tuku atu wā rātou kōrero. Nei rā te mihi nunui ki a koutou katoa! Finally, to the organisers and judges of this kaupapa – e kore e mimiti te mihi, thank you for making this event so memorable.
