Another huge day courtside — this time for the Year 5/6 Basketball World Cup, the final event on the WBOP calendar for the term! Seven intense games (that’s over 140 minutes of basketball!) in what could only be described as the "pool of death", stacked with top Friday night A-grade schools. Our team narrowly lost to Mount Maunganui, who went on to win the entire tournament — a testament to the level of competition! We finished 9th out of 24 teams, wrapping up with a nail-biting, super fun final against Tauranga Primary to claim the spot — an awesome way to end an action-packed day! What made it even more impressive? Four of our players backed up after playing 8 games of rugby yesterday, and one ran the BOP Cross Country on Tuesday. These kids have absolutely earned their holidays. They played with heart, determination, and real team spirit — we couldn’t be prouder. Huge thanks to our supportive parents, and especially to our phenomenal coach Shinae. Without her, basketball at Papamoa Primary wouldn’t be what it is. We are so lucky to have her expertise, passion, and dedication leading the way. 🏀💛💙

So proud of these two teams — so much heart, resilience, and pride in every game. The way they represented themselves, their whānau, and their school was nothing short of commendable. The boys faced some tough moments and real intensity, both on and off the field, but the way they kept their cool and stayed focused on their game was something to be proud of — we sure are! 6th in the Chiefs Region — which includes King Country, Thames Valley, Taupō and Eastern Bay of Plenty — is a result to celebrate. Our Girls Team proved once again that when they believe in themselves, they are truly unstoppable. Massive thanks to Coach Layton for the time, energy and heart you’ve poured into these teams. To our parents and supporters — thank you for being there every step of the way. From early starts to late finishes, your encouragement, cheering and commitment makes all the difference. And a special shoutout to Charlie, Payton and Maggie — you were in our hearts all day and remain an important part of this team. What a way to finish at the Chiefs Region Rugby 7s Finals in Rotorua. 🖤🏉 16 Games of rugby betweenn them, there’s going to be some tired bodies to end the school term! 💪🏽 💥

These four incredible wee athletes represented our school proudly today at the BOP Cross Country Champs in Rotorua, alongside students from 91 schools across the Bay. They tackled a true rural cross country course—through farmland, bush, and plenty of those old-school hills that many of our 80s–90s parents will remember (either fondly or not-so-fondly!). With all four achieving top 15 finishes, we couldn’t be prouder of the grit, determination, and heart these kids showed today. Ka pai team!

✨ Mānawatia a Matariki – Celebrating Together! ✨ What an incredible day we had yesterday celebrating Matariki together as a kura whānau! 🌟 A huge thank you to all the whānau who came along, supported, and shared in the day – your presence helped make it truly special. A massive shout-out to our amazing staff – your mahi, teamwork, and positive vibes brought the entire event to life. From prepping kai to hosting, serving, and cleaning up – we saw our values of Care, Courage, Commitment, and Connection in action. 🔥 And let’s not forget – arguably the best-cooked hāngī yet! 🚒 No fire brigade callouts, just a dedicated crew up at 4:30am getting things underway for a perfect 5:00am fire lighting. That’s commitment right there!
