Welcome to Reading Tips for Parents.  There are two stages to reading:   Learning to Read - this typically happens up to the age of 8, and Reading to Learn - this occurs once a child has learned to read.  These presentations focus on how you can help your child read to learn.  This is called "reading comprehension".  Each of the short presentations focuses on a different strategy you can use at home to support your child’s understanding of the text being read.

To access each reading presentation, click on the appropriate button below, and turn up your volume.  If you hover the cursor over "More" on the right hand side of the screen, you can click on "Full Screen".  Then just work your way through it by clicking on the large arrow at the bottom of each slide.
