Swimming Champs 2015

 Bay of Plenty Juniors Swimming Championships, Rotorua 5th & 6th December 2015.

Kel I (Mt Maunganui Swimming Club) - competed in 50m Fly, 50m, 100m and 200m Freestyle.
Kel qualified for the 2016 NZ Junior Championships for 50m Butterfly. His times were short of just 0.2 of a second for 50m Free and 0.72 for 200m Freestyle. In 100m Freestyle he was very close too to NZ Juniors qualifying times, less than 2 seconds!
 
Charlotte G (Mt Maunganui Swimming Club) - had an awesome weekend, she came away with 5 bronze medals for 50m backstroke, 50m Free, 50m fly, 50m breast and 100m Freestyle. 
 
Arianna R (Greerton Swimming Club) - another very young talented Papamoa Primary School pupil. Arianna competed in the 50m and 100m Breaststroke, 50m Fly, 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle. 
 
Arianna won several medals - silver in 50m fly, bronze in 100m breast. She also ended up going home with some ribbons in her other races (meaning she was a finalist and top 10 finisher in the 9y & under category). 
 
 
Zyleika P-S (Papamoa Swimming Club) - the star of the tournament and the talk of most of the officials. With super strong finishes and fast races. Zyleika not only did her races but was part of the Papamoa Swimming Club Females 12y & U relay team. 
 
Talitha McE (Papamoa Swimming Club) - with 10 races over the two days, Talitha won them all, and took home 10 gold BOP medals in her age group. She also broke a few BOP Juniors records and got some good NZ Juniors Qualifying times. She has now qualified for NZ Juniors in 50m Backstroke, 100m Freestyle, 200m Freestyle and 200m Medley.
