i Save The World

Papamoa School's  "i Save the World" programme is aimed at inspiring students to help save the world by walking, cycling or taking the bus to school. It also increases their awareness of safety, and promotes health, environment, education, character values and citizenship.

The students use world travel as a theme and each week they "travel" to a new country, plotting their progress with passports, interactive maps, flags, stickers and badges.  Passports are stamped after each "trip" and children receive a badge from that week's featured country when they have collected enough stamps.

Year 6 students serve as World Marshalls, looking after the safety of the younger students, and encouraging "world saving actions."  One of the programme's theme messages is "Be the change you want to see in the world".
