Feet First - Walk
To School
With 'i save the world' being such a strong
part of our school, Walk to School Wednesday has been an extension
of that. All classes are keeping a record of the children who walk, bus,
bike, scooter or skateboard to school. As
you can see there are quite a few ways to get to school that do not
involve driving the car!
Sanitarium
Breakfast
Papamoa School won a special
prize in the 2008 nation-wide Feet First Competition, and all
our
students were treated to a nice big healthy breakfast, compliments of Sanitarium.
We were joined by
our "mystery" sports celebrity, Steven Ferguson. Steven
represented NZ in kayaking at the Olympic Games in
Beijing.
Steven joined all the
students at the Gordon Spratt Reserve and walked back to school with
them. The children really enjoyed listening to his speech and
watching him give out awards to some of our 'i
save the world' marshalls. He also signed autographs.
