i Save The World

i Save the World won the Educational section of the New Zealand Road Safety Awards. Needless to say we are very pleased with this result and the $2,000 prize will be very useful. We held a special assembly where Mr Rowden thanked all the helpers, children and parents who have made i Save the World so successful and Mr Friar presented him with the Award.

Yet another award has come the way of the i Save the World team. This time they were runner up in the New Zealand Community Safety and Injury Prevention Awards. While in Wellington receiving the prize Mr Rowden met many people interested in the initiative. The programme seems to have grown like topsy to the point where we now have 37% less children coming to school in cars. The number of children busing is up 55%, cycling is up 45% and those walking from the designated walking points has risen by 200%.
